The monument to Mikhail Vrubel in the city of Omsk is the first and only in Russia monument to a famous Russian artist. The monument is located in the historical centre of the city, on Lenin street, near the Museum of fine arts.
Opening of the monument to Mikhail Vrubel was held on 20 June 2006 the opening ceremony of the pedestal was held with the participation of Governor Leonid Polezhaev, the Minister of culture of the Omsk region Vladimir Raduly, sculptor Michael Nogina, as well as many members of the public, artists and intellectuals.
M. Vrubel was born in 1856 in Omsk. It was the largest representative of art Nouveau and symbolism in Russian art, the author of famous works "Spain", "Demon seated", decorative panels "Princess Dreams", "Venice", illustrations for the works of M.
