The historical Museum in Oslo, built by the architect Henrik bull in 1903 in art Nouveau style. The Museum building has a 2 round towers and flowing lines of the facade, was opened to public the public in 1904. Its exposition consists of three collections: the collection of antiquities, a collection of coins and medals, and Ethnography Museum.
The collection of antiquities tells the history of Norway from the stone age to the middle ages. The basis of the collection are the numerous archaeological finds.
On the second floor is a collection of coins, banknotes and medals. It exhibits 6300 Greek and Roman coins, given to the Museum by Professor Norwegian University of Georg Sverdrup.
Ethnographic Museum, which occupies the third floor of the building, tells the story of the Arctic expeditions, about the cultures of the peoples of the North, East, America and Africa, as well as about Egyptian mummies and objects of ancient art.
All labels under the exhibits are made in three languages: Norwegian, English and German. The entrance to the Museum is free. In the summer we organize excursions with a guide.
