The mining town of Ostrava offers not only a variety of architectural and natural attractions, but also some interesting technical objects, which will be informative and interesting. Such art is the unique mine "Michal", which is in the list, considered UNESCO to provide objects listed therein, the special status.
Mine is "Michal" was opened in the mid-nineteenth century. In our time it was no longer active, it is a Museum that attracts thousands of tourists every month. They are invited to go through several routes, covering all the points where each day stops miner, sinking into the mine. Travelers will visit the locker room, see rescue equipment, will be able to go down on the lift, go through a narrow corridor to the place of mining. All guests will feel what feels miner daily.
In addition, guests show boiler and engine compartments, to demonstrate operation of the steam engine, talk about how rescue operations are conducted.
The guides will tell about the history of the gallery Michal. The most significant reconstruction of the mine took place in 1915. It was then that the industrial complex has acquired the appearance that we see now.
The mine was equipped with the latest technology in 1912. Even then to help the miners came many devices that greatly facilitated their work. Mine was open until 1993. Then froze it for 2 years while I decide its fate. Only in 1995 from the gallery made a Museum.
Upon entering the gallery Michal, tourists find themselves in an industrial enterprise of the late XIX – early XX centuries.
