The house-Museum of Th.L.Runeberg is in that part of town, which is decorated in the Empire style and low wooden houses form the squares according to the classical plan of the city. Here he lived for 25 years the greatest Finnish-Swedish poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg. In a nearby building displays a collection of sculptures of the poet's son – famous sculptor Walter Runeberg.
