The Church of the Dormition of the virgin in Slavkovich was built in 1810 and was erected by members of the parish. The Church has a side chapel, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, and a year later was built a chapel in the Holy name of the Holy Trinity. The chapel of St. John the Baptist over the years 1890-1893 was extended on cash parishioners and re-consecrated on 7 November 1893.
The Church and adjacent bell tower were built of stone. The bell tower stands separately from the Church building. The bell tower was badly damaged in 1834 by fire, but was soon repaired by the efforts of parishioners. The bell tower had eight bells. The very first cast the bell has reached a weight of 101 pounds and had the inscription, and the third bell; the rest of the inscriptions had.
The parish was listed twelve chapels. Under the assumption Church was built of stone Vladimir's chapel, which was erected in 1865 by the parishioners, and the other chapels were built of wood. Away proverty from temple stood Pyatnitskaya chapel, well equipped.
In the Church of the Dormition there were three altars: the first or main was consecrated in the name of the assumption of the virgin, left – in honor of the blessed virgin Mary, the right altar is in honor of the Cathedral of the Holy prophet, forerunner and John the Baptist. Near the building of the Church was an ancient abandoned cemetery.
The main volume of the Church is a rectangular cubic shape, having one head light, wooden drum with a small cupola and cross. The temple roof is made of iron hipped. The East side is adjacent to the temple reduced pentagonal apse, and on the North side is low domed chapel, equipped with decorative octagonal drum. On the West side adjacent the lower arches of the chapel and quadrangle.
The decoration of the facades is made very modest: at the top of the walls is quite simplified cornice. On the Northern, southern and Western facades of the quadrangle in the Central upper part has a semicircular window openings. In the side faces apsidny part of the quadrangle are window openings with lintels, made in the form of arches, and the Central part has decoration in the form of niches, equipped with the same arched lintel. On the facade of the porch from the West has a bell gable with parapet, and over wooden doors attached semi-circular niche with a metal canopy supported by metal brackets. The main entrance to the temple is decorated polyelectronic that carry the arch with archivolt, and at its center is the Capstone. On the façade facing the North side, there are four window openings with arched lintels, and two fairly late buttress on the East side of the wall. The overlap of the quadrangle is done through a closed arch. In the narthex and the chapel of the torispherical vaults are done with Stripping on Windows. The temple was built of limestone slabs, then plastered and whitewashed.
The parish almshouses guardianship and hospitals in the parish Church did not exist. Parochial school began its work in the spring with March 3, 1884 in separately built for the educational needs of the building. During 1910 the school had an enrollment of 45 students.
It is known that in 1917, the Archpriest of the assumption Church served Pechansky Gregory p., and priests were John V. Lebedev and Dmitry Orlov. After some time a deacon of the Church became Vasiliev Emelian Mikhailovich – the native villages Machines in Ostrovsky district. In 1935 he was arrested and exiled with his family in one of settlements of the Perm region. Already in 1936 Emelian Mikhailovich died. During 1942 iconography workshop in Pskov Orthodox mission in the Church of the assumption of our lady was re-painted iconostasis of the Church. During the great Patriotic war, the Church priest was the assumption Nikolai.
