Koskinou is a picturesque resort village on the East coast of Rhodes island. It is located about 7 km from the homonymous capital of the island and 8 km from the popular resort of Faliraki. It is believed that the name of the village was derived from the Greek word "koskino", which means "sieve", the manufacture of which once was the main occupation of the locals.

Koskinou is divided into two parts – the old town, situated at some distance from the shore (about 2-2. 5 km) and the new coastal district. Tourist infrastructure Koskinou is mainly concentrated in the modern part of the settlement. There are many fine hotels and luxurious apartments.
