Alin monastery is situated on the hillside below Kaleto peak (1190 meters above sea level, 6 km from the village of Alino and 20 km from the town of Samokov. It was founded in the XVI-XVII centuries in the period of the early Renaissance and was the publishing center of local importance.

The village of Alino, in whose honor was named the sacred monastery, first mentioned in Ottoman documents 1576. Its population was engaged in iron ore mining, which is then processed in Samokov. The monastery was built thanks to generous donations from the community. Preserved the names of some of them: pop Slatin, pop Steadfastly, pop Vylko, hieromonk Elijah, etc.

The only thing that remains of the monastery complex up to the present day Church and dilapidated residential building. The Church is a single-nave Church without a vestibule, with a semi-cylindrical arch and one apse.

According to surviving dedicatory inscriptions, the temple was painted in 1626. At the top of the altar you can see the traditional image of "our lady of the Shire of Heaven, below are scenes from the Scriptures: "the communion of the apostles", "the Hospitality of Abraham", "the Annunciation", "the Adoration of Christ's Sacrifice". The Eastern side of the temple walls are decorated with frescoes, illustrating scenes of Christ's miracles: "the Marriage in Cana of Galilee", "the Unbelief of Thomas", "the cutting off" etc.. On the arches presents various images of Christ: the young Christ Emmanuel, Christ the Almighty and Christ as the angel. In the Western part of the building alternate image of Church feasts and the passion of Christ. In the nineteenth century on the Western façade was added to the image of the patron of the temple of Christ the Savior. Historical value and represent the icons of Christ, the virgin, St. John of Rila, St. John the Baptist Cathedral and a small icon 1845, exhibited in the iconostasis. All murals are made in the style of Athos masters: simple, not cluttered with details of the composition; naive, primitive saints. However, some differences in the author's handwriting indicate that the painting was done by several authors.
