On the territory of the present district Semkhoz Sergiev Posad in ancient times passed Pereslavl road. It traveled to St. Sergius of Radonezh in search of a convenient place for the Trinity monastery. The first settlements appeared here in the XV-XVI centuries. Born Alexander in Moscow in 1935 to a Jewish family. His father, Vladimir G. Men, attended a Jewish religious school in Ukraine, and his mother, Elena Semenovna Men, from childhood, he was drawn to Christianity. When the boy was six months old, the mother secretly took the rite of baptism. Alexander was baptized on the same day. After graduating from the Moscow school of V. A. Men began training in 1953 at the Moscow fur Institute, but in the fifth year was expelled for religious views. In a month-old young man was ordained a deacon, and two years later, the priest, having finished the Leningrad theological Seminary. In absentia Alexander Men entered the Moscow theological Academy and graduated in 1965. Wide erudition, proximity to secular culture and science has led to the recognition of a priest leading a Christian preacher of the second half of the twentieth century.
The works of Alexander and his sermons are still investigating. His books have been translated into many languages. Among the most well-known "History of religion" in seven volumes, established for 13 years, "How to read the Bible" and "Bibliological dictionary". Mainly, the work of father Alexander were released abroad under various pseudonyms. Only since the 1980s, the priest has the opportunity to go to Orthodox openly, including via the media. September 9, 1990, on the way from home to the station, Archpriest Alexander Men was murdered with an axe in the back. This crime was never solved. The investigators believe that there were two people. One distracted the priest gave him the note, but then the second ran from behind and fired a shot.

Cloistered vault has a cruciform shape with a centered cylindrical vaults. The outside facades are decorated with pilasters. On the West side of the Church above the main entrance is square in plan belfry, ringing for the first time, January 2004. In 2005, the Archimandrite Zinon finished work on the iconostasis for St. Sergius Church. September 9, 2010 the Church in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh was consecrated.
