The two-storey Royal Fort was built in 1820 and was the residence of the family, who ruled in Sharjah. Over time, buildings were destroyed, but in 1996, restoration works were carried out. The Fort Museum tells the history of the development of the Emirate and various historical events. It accommodates a collection of traditional weapons: guns, powder tanks and swords from tortoise shells.
