The Central Park of the city of Stavropol is a monument of nature, protected by the state. The total area of 150-year-old Park of 12 hectares.

The history of Stavropol Park is closely linked with the history of the city. There is a legend that there were such great Russian writers as Pushkin, Lermontov, M. Yu. and A. S. Griboedov, as in the beginning of the century resembled installed wooden benches with signs.

Central Park is striking in its beauty every passer-by. Its decoration are of different composition: a vase, a beautiful fountain, flowers, lovely flower beds "Varyag" and "Korean" in honor of the heroes of the Russo-Japanese war, as well as flower beds "Airship" and "Airplane" dedicated to the first manned space flight. Amazing ponds, gorgeous greenhouses, grottoes made the Park one of the most favorite places of rest of the townspeople.

Special attention should be paid to the old chestnut alley, which was planted by the gardener B. Novak method of connecting and splicing two or three trees, planted in the same hole. The hallmark of the Park became a cascade of ponds, formed by an underground river Galabovo. The most popular meeting place for couples in love is thrown across the pond, a bridge, a graceful addition to the landscape floating swans.

In Central Park there are four majestic oak, one of which bears the name of a Russian General and statesman Yermolov, the other three oak growing on the island, were named in honor of Russian writers – Lermontov, Griboedov and Pushkin.

The Park has many rides, dodgems, arcades, bumper boats, trampolines, boxer, waltz, velomobiles, fun slides, water ball, children's play areas) and about a dozen cafes.

Central Park is a harmonious blend of historical and cultural values, a great place for a quiet holiday local residents and visitors alike.
