Bicentennial Park since the founding of Australia is located on the shores of the Bay of Hombach 16 km West of Sydney. 100 hectares of the Park is made up of environmentally significant wetlands included in the list of natural heritage, another 40 hectares dedicated to the recreational area. Bicentennial Park was created in 1980-ies in honor of the Bicentennial anniversary of the founding of Australia, which was celebrated in 1988. The project was envisaged the transformation of the landfill area 47, 4 hectares in the recreation zone and a capture under guards of 53 hectares of wetlands on the PARRAMATTA river.
