In South-Western Sydney on 416 acres of hilly terrain houses the largest in the Australian Botanic garden mount Annan. The garden opened in 1988, the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, contains a vast collection of typical Australian plants – more than 4 thousand copies! It was in this garden in 1995 were first cultivated vollemskie pine – the oldest plants on Earth, accidentally discovered a year earlier in the national Park "Wollemi" 200 km from Sydney. It was considered that vollemskie pine disappeared from the face of our planet. These trees were so valuable that some time they were kept in steel cages, protecting from thieves. The Botanical garden is traditionally broken into several thematic areas – Large Garden Ideas", "the Garden of Australian Acacias", "Garden of Banksy" etc. Among all this blooming splendor dwells 160 species of birds, the mountain kangaroo wallaroo, Wallaby and a kangaroo, familiar to every tourist. On the territory of the garden laid 20 miles of footpaths and scattered picnic areas. Here are research Botanical center and founded in 1986, the Seed Bank of New South Wales. The main task of the Bank was to ensure the newly created garden seeds of wild plants, especially Acacias, eucalyptus trees and plants in the family proteaceae, which includes about two thousand species.
