Literary and theatre Museum named after N. M. Dyakonov was established in 1989. The official date of its opening is June 23, 1989. The Museum bears the name of the Komi actor, Director, playwright, Honored artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the state prize, the Creator of the famous film "Wedding dowry" – N. M. Diakonova.
Nikolay Mikhailovich Diakonov was born and realized his career in the Komi Republic. He is originally from Yarensk uyezd, Vologda province (now Ust-Vym district of the Republic of Kazakhstan) in the family of peasants. Was a member of rural art activities, and in the early 1930-ies played in the first mobile theatre of Komi. In 1932-1936 he studied in the Studio of the Leningrad school of performing arts in the Republic of Komi. Since 1936 has become the actor of drama theatre. From the beginning of his career on the professional stage Nicholas deacons proved himself a bright, distinctive actor and talented Director.
Treatment in the late 1930s, Dyakonova to the drama greatly enriched the national repertoire. The top creative playwright of the romantic Comedy "Wedding dowry", which became widely known both in the USSR and internationally.
Every year in Syktyvkar arranged the event, which is dedicated to famous figures of the theatre of the Komi Republic, organises thematic exhibitions, quizzes, competitions, clubs, theater festivals.
The basic profile and the face of the Museum define its permanent exhibitions: "the history of the theatres of the Republic of Komi" and "the Life and works.M. Diakonova". The first hall exhibition reveals the life and career N.M. Dyakonov. The first room of the Museum is kind of solved: the layout of the house Dyakonov, wall art painting depicting the nature of the North; view photos of the village Seita, where she was born, Maria Ivanovna Diakonova (here family Dyakonov spent her free time), Ezhva, where Nikolai Mikhailovich spent the last twenty years of his life, the city of Syktyvkar, where N.M. The deacons took place as an artist. The exposition of the second hall introduces visitors to the history of the theatres of the Republic: Academic drama theatre. .. Savina from the time of its Foundation to the end of the 20th century, National music and drama theatre, the State theatre of Opera and ballet of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the third hall of the Museum are exhibitions on various subjects: significant events, anniversaries, cultural phenomena, etc.
Temporary exhibitions the Museum uses more than 15% of materials from their collections. A very popular exhibition of decorative art by local artists and artists from other regions; the exhibition of the ethnographic orientation.
In the lobby of the Museum houses the permanent ethnographic exhibition of the interior of the hut of the Komi peoples. Here the objects of everyday life of peasants, utensils tell about the life of the Komi people in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Museum's memorial workshop of the master of the bark, known throughout the Republic – M. S. koceva. The opening workshop was held on 13 March 2002 as a tribute to a talented artist and teacher who died in the Prime of his work.
