The Church of the Immaculate Heart of the blessed virgin Mary is one of the few churches in the Polish city of Szczecin, which is preserved in the decoration of the Baroque era. The Church is located on the outskirts of town, on the left Bank of Oder river, North of the Old town of Szczecin.
The first Church in the place which was then called the village Statin, was founded in the thirteenth century. In the fifteenth century the Church was rebuilt in the Gothic style. The following changes to the appearance of the temple were made in the twenties of the eighteenth century, when the nave was added to the transept in the Church tower floors were replaced, and the building itself was plastered.
The Church was destroyed during the Second world war, and in 1945 was transferred to the Roman Catholic parish Church of the Immaculate Heart of the blessed virgin Mary. In the fifties in the Church, the roof was replaced, and was later built the sacristy.
Currently, the interest in the Church is the Baroque altar 1727 with statues of angels, the figure of Moses and St. John the Baptist. Here are the paintings: the last supper, the Crucifixion, the descent from the cross "and" the entombment". The pulpit in Baroque style was made in the twenties of the eighteenth century. The canopy of the Department supported a statue of an angel. On the balustrade of the staircase is placed statues of the apostles. Also in the interior of the temple you can see the exquisite Baroque candlestick.
