The monument to Mikhail Lermontov is one of the attractions of Taman. The monument is located in the heart of the village, in a shady little Park next to the Museum dedicated to the great writer.

Mikhail Lermontov twice visited the Taman. Here he was passing in 1837 After the first visit was born the famous novel "Taman", thanks to which the village learned everything. Unfortunately, Taman Lermontov did not like, therefore, came to this territory for the second time, he had not visited the village, and stopped at Fanagoria fortress. But today it doesn't matter that wrote the poet then, importantly, one of his literary works he called "Taman". Lermontov's Taman remember and respect, so established in his honor a monument.

On this sculpture Lermontov relies on a small rock on a steep Bank, he looked into the distance, towards the sea. The monument was built by architect V. Gavrilov A. and a true master stone of the case I. D. Brodsky

Unfortunately, Taman there are no surviving buildings of those times, when there lived a famous writer. In 1964, at the edge of a high cliff, on the spot where formerly stood the house in which lived Lermontov, local researchers and admirers of Lermontov recreated a house with a yard.

In Taman there is also a small Museum dedicated to Mikhail Lermontov, who became the pride of this region.
