This majestic blue-gray mountain with snow-covered peak rises above the semi-desert of Northern Tanzania. Kilimanjaro is a dormant, but not extinct volcano. Different routes are first routed through a lush tropical forest before you reach the Heather on the open plains, where there are Lobelia and also similar to a huge cactus, groundsel. Over these plains can be seen almost lunar landscape of desert mountains, stretching between the two peaks - Kliba similar to a flat dome, and Mawenzi, a group of jagged peaks with the peak on the East side. On this, as it may seem due to the lunar landscape of inhospitable territory is inhabited by herds of animals, such as antelopes. The oldest volcano, Shira, lies to the West of the main mountain. He was much taller and is believed to have collapsed after a very powerful eruption, leaving only the plateau height 3 m. The second-oldest volcano - Mawenzi - currently visible in the form of a peak, adjoining the Eastern side of the main mountain. And although close to the top of Kilimanjaro it seems insignificant, its height reaches 5 m. The youngest and largest of the three volcanoes, Kibo, was formed during a series of eruptions and is topped by a Caldera 2 km in diameter. The second volcanic cone with a crater grew inside the Caldera during eruption, and later, during the third eruption inside the crater was formed ash cone. Huge Kibo Caldera forms a characteristic flat top of this beautiful African mountain. The highest point of Kibo and Kilimanjaro is Uhuru peak, with its spectacular hanging glaciers and stunning views of the African plains, lying restucture feet below. Is on Klibo peak Gillman point, which is slightly below. They are targets for hikers. The peaks of Mawenzi is accessible only to mountaineers. I can add description
