MacArthur Park, also known as the memorial to the landing of allied troops on the island of Leyte, one of the most popular tourist attractions not only of Leyte, but the entire Philippine archipelago. It was here, on the beach Red beach in Palo town, not far from the major port of Tacloban, in 1944 landed American General Douglas MacArthur led the American-Filipino troops to begin the liberation of the country from the Japanese invaders.
