A place of pilgrimage for many believers is near the Czech town of Kraliky. To get to the temple complex on a high mountain, named after the Mother of God, you need to pass the alley, decorated chapels, which begins in the city. Every visitor must pass the ladder, which is a replica of the Holy stairs that Jesus walked to be in front of Pontius Pilate. Many people struggle with it, like the original, which is now kept in Rome, on his knees.
Long ago, in the XVII century, Kralicky mountain, which was often called the Bald, was considered a Holy place intended for children. On this hill was the local children set off in search of protection of higher powers. There were held various ceremonies, the procession passed, the service was held for the youngest parishioners. Among such young of the flock and was tobiasz Jan Becker, who afterwards occupied a high position in the Church hierarchy, but has not forgotten his childhood experiences, and therefore gave the order to build on this hill Church. The Church building was completed in 1700. Then it was consecrated and opened for believers who could kneel before a valuable icon of the Mother of God. She became the chief treasure of the temple complex on Bald mountain, which in a few years was renamed in honour of the virgin Mary. After 10 years near the temple came the building of the monastery, where it was first inhabited by the Holy fathers of the order of Servico, and since 1883 – the monks-the Redemptorist fathers. In the middle of the XX century the monastery was turned into a prison for priests, which lasted 10 years. Now here is charged with all the nuns.
