In the small town of Efremov, located on the territory of Tula region, is one remarkable and unique building. It is surprising that such an ancient structure has been preserved to the present time, because it is in him in the early years of the 20th century lived and led his literary career of the famous Russian writer and honorary Nobel peace prize winner Bunin Ivan Alekseevich.
The opening of the Museum in the street Turgeneva, 47 occurred in 1985, but originally the Museum operated as a Department of the regional Museum of Ephraim, on the study of literature. In the Museum at the time, acted in a permanent exhibition that tells about the work of the famous writer. Since January 2001, previously known literary Department became known as the House-Museum of I. A. Bunin
Bunin Ivan Alekseevich came several times in Efremov, because here lived his close ones, and he presented a packet of material for his future works. The first visiting writer of this city is directly connected with the desire to get to know an outstanding writer of Russian literature – Tolstoy, Lev Nikolaevich. At the time, 17-year-old Bunin went to Yasnaya Polyana – about this journey he further wrote in his story. The description appears as a young Bunin in one fine day decided to ride in the direction of Yasnaya Polyana, riding a horse Kirghiz. At the time, Yefremov was a district town in the province of Tula, from which towards the appointed place had to go nearly a hundred miles. But on the road to Yasnaya Polyana, he decided to change his route and go back home.
It is important to note that Yefremov has become part of the biography of the family Budinich since 1906. In 1905 swept the country, the revolutionary events that led to leave the house in the middle of the brothers – Eugene, located in the village of moth, whose territory was to remain unsafe. He decided to take shelter in rent for the needs of the peasants, and, after some time, he sold himself and the manor house and the estate, and then moved to Yefremov. Here Bunin bought the house, located on Turgenev street, which was built in 1880 year.
It was in this house very often held in the evening, at which were assembled all the family Budinich, including the older brother of Julia, Ivan with his bride Muromtsevo V. N. and sister Mary with their children. One of the favorite places of attraction of this family was city grove – it was the place of large tea parties, the main organizer of this event has always been a family Budinich. Ivan came more than once on a walk in grove city, where he spent time strolling along the shady paths with his nephew – Laskarzewski N who was particularly fond of these walks.
In the town of Efremov, long lived Bunin Lyudmila Aleksandrovna – the mother of a talented writer, who here spent the rest of the day. After the death of his mother lived here and Eugene A., who had also died in his house. Mother and son were buried at old city cemetery. Years later, Ivan Alekseevich not just passed groves, and his heart sank, looking at the place where his mother is buried, who asked never to forget where her grave is.
The last time Ivan Alekseevich Bunin visited Efremov in 1917.
