Collection of historical and art Museum and art gallery housed in the princely palaces, the Church of Dmitry on the blood and other buildings in the Kremlin. It includes archaeological finds, old Russian icons, paintings of the XVIII-XX centuries, the sculpture of the XVII-XIX centuries, personal belongings and family heirlooms residents, decorative and applied arts.

Objects the Museum is situated in the showcases, which are carved from lime wood and serve the Museum since its opening. Particularly interesting objects connected with the tragic events of the murder of Tsarevich Dmitry: stretchers, in which were slain the Prince moved to Moscow, returning from exile alarm bell, Board-reliquary in which was stored the nuts, the former the child in his hands at the time of his death, etc. In the princely palaces have survived many rarities of the Museum of national antiquities, including embroidery, cover with faces of Uglich saints, a collection of tiles.
