Falling house Photo: Leaning house

One of the outstanding examples of late Gothic style, the Falling house in Ulm today is not just a local landmark. Traditional in some areas of Germany the framing looks authentic, besides, the house hangs over the water, which was also the case for medieval Ulm, which, basically, were artisans of various trades. "Falling" this house is named because its slope is 9-10 degrees, no doubt, not only the interest of tourists, but also disputes architects and builders about how not to let it fall completely.

One of the main landmarks for tourists, Falling house is located in the old quarter. The building dates from the 14th century and is happy that changed almost nothing in their appearance with far 1443. Despite the fires and wars, this home has retained all of its characteristic features down to the moss on the roof and the interior, of course, changed quite often. Interesting architecture, full of complex engineering solutions: diagonal attachment of the first floor bear the main function and maintain the following floors. Wood used in construction, belongs to the category of the ship, is very durable.

The legends say that in the basement of this interesting house were previously equipped storage facilities for fish, which were brought by local fishermen. Some changes occurred in the mid-17th century, when the building was strengthened and no longer served as a trade. And since the end of 1995 in the house staged one of the most attractive tourist hotels: the joke, to spend a few days in the house, which has no counterpart anywhere in the world!
