Basilica of the Holy virgin, the protector of the disadvantaged, is one of the buildings on the square of the virgin, which is the heart of Valencia and daily attracts a huge number of people. In the early 20th century it was decided the expansion and renovation of the building of the Basilica. Was held a project competition, which was won by the architect Vicente Travers, on a plan which the Church building was supposed to have the highest dome among all city buildings.
