25 km North of Eilat is historical-archaeological reserve Timna. It is located in a valley surrounded by high cliffs, built of rocks of different shades.

In the Park there are several Hiking trails. The main road runs between the rocks, consisting of different breeds (mostly) red, before the so-called Solomon's pillars, natural geological formations bizarre, and next to the artificial lake near the abandoned mines, where you can collect different colored sand, to mint his own "ancient" copper coin and ride down the lake on a Pedalo.

Archaeological findings prove that king Solomon's mines were operated by the Egyptians 14-11 centuries BC, Midianite 11-10 in BC and the Jews in 10-9 century BC; much later, in 1-2 centuries ad, here copper was mined by the Romans. Have discovered cave paintings of ancient Egyptian period, the remains of a settlement (Horvat-Timna), smelters, mines and mining tools.

In 2002, there was opened a new Center for tourists, which demonstrates the sound and light shows in multiple languages, telling the story of Timna valley copper mines.
