The Palacio de benicarló, known as the Palace of the government of the province of Valencia, located in the Piazza San Lorenzo. This vintage three-story building, whose construction was begun in 1482, under the guidance of the famous architect Pere Conte, who was the author of this project.

To 1510 was finished only the Central part of the building. The construction of the towers was completed already to 1585. Thus, it appears that this building was built over a century in the heyday of such successive architectural styles (Gothic and Renaissance. And yet the main part of the building designed in the late Gothic style. In the construction of the Palace was attended by a great number of artists of different specialties, among which are the masons, carpenters, painters, craftsmen, furniture and many others. From a small courtyard you can get to the interior of the Palace - halls with rich murals, multi-color casinosimi ceilings and floors, decorated with ornate tiles.

This Palace is very rich history. Since then, as it was built, it was owned by various influential families. With 1485, he was in possession of the Borgia family, in the mid-18th century in a totally derelict state it came into the possession of the Dukes of Gandia, then the patrimonial nest Benavente, and after – the Osuna family. During the Spanish civil war it was the residence of the government of the Second Spanish Republic. Today the Palacio de benicarló is the meeting place of the Parliament of Valencia.
