Institute of modern art Valencia is one of the largest and most important museums of modern art not only in Spain but throughout Europe. It is located in Valencia, in the Northern part of El Carme. The aim of the Museum is not only a demonstration of works by contemporary painters, sculptors, photographers, but also the promotion of the art of the 20th and now the 21st centuries, to the talents and familiarizing the masses with the directions of contemporary art. The Museum was opened in 1989. In 2001, there were added the additional exhibition space.

The appearance of the building of the Institute is fully responsible the content of their exhibits. Its modern forms, the strict straight lines of the Museum building immediately attracts attention.

The Museum is very popular every day it is visited by huge number of people. There are numerous works of famous contemporary artists such as Julio gonzález, Ignacio Pinazo, Miguel Navarro. It also presents masterpieces of such famous masters as Goya, Velasquez, El Greco, van Dyck. Separate attention is paid to the art of photography. Here is a great exhibition of photographs and works on photomontage.

In addition to the permanent exhibition in the Museum is annually arranged from 3 to 5 temporary exhibitions lasting from one to three months. The Museum regularly holds symposia, conferences, devoted to the topics of contemporary art and its influence on culture and society.
