In the XII century on this place - on the road between Novgorod and the Yuriev monastery, there was a village Vitoslavlitsy. this place was selected in the 1960-ies to create a Museum under the open sky. Here from throughout the area took were in poor condition buildings. Restoration workshop was literally saved from the death of these iconic monuments.
Only on the territory of 30 hectares is located 22 monument. Collected here are different types of preserved wooden churches: tent "octagon on square" - the Church of the assumption of Korycka (1595), a cross on the ground floor with three thrones - the Nativity of the virgin from the village Uppers (1531), longline Church of St. Nicholas from High Island (1767) and Kletsky - from the village of Tuchola (1688).
