Palazzo Schio – aristocratic Palace of the 16th century in Vicenza, on the facade of which in 1560, the year worked Andrea Palladio. The great architect began the design of the facade at the request of Bernardo Schio, who decided to build a family residence in the district of Ponte Pusterla. But since in those same years, Palladio worked on a series of projects in Venice, which required his personal presence in the capital of the Venetian Republic, its participation in the construction works of the Palazzo Schio was so insignificant that he hired foreman Mason was forced to suspend the construction until further guidance. After the death of Bernardo Schio his widow had shown no interest in the completion of work on the Palazzo, and it was completed only at the initiative of brother Bernardo, Fabrizio, 1574-75-m years.

Facing the street facade of the building is relatively narrow. Palladio decided to split his piano Nobile on three arches of equal width using the four half-columns with Corinthian capitals. The space between the columns is occupied by three Windows with overhanging balconies, each of which is crowned with a protruding triangular pediment. The upper floor was once occupied by three other Windows that were there to cover the warehouse and who were immured in 1825, the year.

The facade of the Palazzo Schio also enlivens the play of light and shadows that are created by using several layers of depth in the arrangement of the columns, moldings and balconies Windows and pediment.
