Vileika the Church of St. Mary of Egypt was built on the main square of the city Vileyka in 1816.

The beginning of the XIX century is characterized by the confrontation between the Catholic and Orthodox churches. The government of the Russian Empire encouraged the construction of Orthodox churches on the territory of the former Commonwealth and oppressed Catholics. Therefore, in Vileyka the Church of St. Mary of Egypt was built opposite Holy cross Catholic Church.

Interesting architectural feature of this Church is that its tower has a clock that is not usually done in the Orthodox churches.
