Vileika the Church of St. Mary of Egypt was built on the main square of the city Vileyka in 1816.

The government of the Russian Empire encouraged the construction of Orthodox churches on the territory of the former Commonwealth and oppressed Catholics. Therefore, in Vileyka the Church of St. Mary of Egypt was built opposite Holy cross Catholic Church.
