The Vitebsk region is the ancient patrimony of the princes Sapieha. For the first time the Participants are mentioned in 1563. The participants belonged to the Sapieha family until 1739, when Joseph Sapieha sold the Vitebsk region Jan von Eckel Gilzene arranged in the village centre of his estate. In 1782, the estate passed by inheritance in the genus Shirinov.
In Vitebsk region is the magnificent Church of the Transfiguration. The Church is valid. Its silhouette is visible from a distance, yet at the entrance to the city, but up close it looks not so nice, since the restoration of the Church was not completed. But inside the Church is very nicely furnished and decorated. The construction was started in 1770 by Jozef Gilsenan, and only completed in 1787 Ignatius Sirina – the new owner of the Vitebsk region. Near the Church there is a cemetery of Polish soldiers.
Built in 1782 in the classical style manor Shirinov surprisingly well preserved. Now it is restored, it houses a school and a Museum.
The Vitebsk region has long been famous for its painted fabrics and carpets. The Museum presents an interesting exposition of the famous carpets of the Vitebsk region. The Museum has a unique pre-Christian monument – glacial boulder with pagan signs.
The Orthodox Church in Vitebsk region represented by a small Church of St. Nicholas, rebuilt from some civic buildings.

In Vitebsk region have historic Park, once part of the Palace-Park ensemble Shirinov. Old lime trees and oaks, and other plants that transcend time. You can wander along the shady alleys and imagine how luxuriously once lived landowners in Vitebsk region.
