Pavlov's house, located in the heart of the city of Volgograd is one of the most important monuments dedicated to a difficult victory in the battle of Stalingrad. This, at first view a very nondescript house became a symbol of heroism, fortitude, and military heroism.
Before the war the building was a four-storey house, which is inhabited by the employees of the regional consumer Union. The house was surrounded by luxury homes signallers and employees of the NKVD, therefore he was considered one of the most prestigious in Stalingrad. After the war, the square, which was Pavlov's house, called the area of Defence. Near the house was built of a semicircular colonnade. Its author was the architect E. Fialko. In 1965 the project sculptors A. P. Golovanov and Malkova on the front wall of the building was erected the memorial wall is a monument dedicated to the martial heroism of the defenders of Stalingrad.
