Volokolamsk Kremlin - a unique monument of history, culture and architecture, is located on the city wall. The resurrection Cathedral of the Kremlin is one of the best architectural buildings of the XV century. The temple dome, decorated with terracotta frieze is distinguished by exquisite proportions. In its interior, one of the pillars, preserved fragment of painting in the late fifteenth century. Tiered bell tower was built in the nineteenth century.

Nearby is the brick St. Nicholas Cathedral, built in the late XIX century with the use of architectural motifs of the seventeenth century by the architect K. A. ton. In the 1880s, was completed carved fence Cathedral complex with decorative corner towers. Now in the temple are the foundations of Volokolamsk historical and architectural Museum.

The exposition of the Volokolamsk Kremlin is the history of the region from the fourth century BC, from the period of the first man on the North-West suburbs. Undisputed interest are the fragments of the exposition, devoted to the period of education of the city (1135 g), the history of Joseph-Volotsky monastery (XV century), the life and work of the ven. Joseph of Volotsk (1439-1515.), the history of landed estates region: Muravyev-Romanov (S. Ostaszewo), Goncharov-Chernyshev (S. Yaropolets).
