St. Nicholas Church in Vukovar is Serbian Orthodox Church in Eastern Croatia. This Church is one of the oldest buildings of the Serbian community North of the river Sava in the Baroque style. St Nicholas Church is single-nave Church with apse and a bell tower on the main facade.
The Central part of the main facade is decorated with single and double pilasters, eaves line wavy. Slender tower, which edges are emphasized with pilasters, ends with a Baroque arch with a flashlight. The vaulted nave of the Church is divided into four compartments, divided, in turn, a broad archivolt resting on ionic capitals. The altar has polyvocality dome.
The present Church was built between 1733 in 1737 year, the place of the former wooden Church, built in 1690. In 1941-1942, the Church was closed and looted. And in 1991 the Church was demolished by the local Croatian armed formations. Now the damage repaired, the Church was reconstructed, the interior restoration is still ongoing.
