The monument to the ghetto heroes monument in Warsaw dedicated to the residents of the Warsaw ghetto, built on the site of the first battle during the ghetto uprising in 1943. Previously was located at the square building of the barracks of the mounted artillery, called barracks Volyn, built in 1788. Before the Second world war there was a military prison, and after the Warsaw ghetto Jewish Council.
The idea of the construction of the monument is not the site of the Warsaw ghetto was announced by the Committee of Polish Jews. In April 1946, the opening of the first monument.
