Museum of F. G. Solntsev is located in the village of Borok, Yaroslavl region. It was organized April 26, 2002, the official opening took place on 27 April 2004.

Theodore G. Solntsev, architect, artist, historian, was a major specialist in the field of artistic archaeology, conducted the famous edition of the "Antiquities of the Russian state".

F. G. Solntsev was born in a family of serfs near Rybinsk in the village of upper-Nikulskoye the Yaroslavl region on the estate of count Musin-Pushkin. His father, of suns Gregory prospects, and his mother, Elizabeth Frolova. They had four sons and one daughter. The younger brother of Fedor Grigorievich – Egor Solntsev was also a famous artist. Count Musin-Pushkin noticed the boy genius and freed their family from serfdom. This gave the opportunity to young Fyodor Solntsev to enroll in 1815, the Academy of fine arts.

In 1824, after the end of the academic year, Fedor Solntsev for the painting "Peasant family" was awarded a small gold medal, and in 1827 – a gold medal for the painting "will Render to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God bogovi".

In 1830 the highest order Venison Theodore G. was sent to Moscow and other cities to imitate ancient customs, clothing, weapons, Church and Royal utensils and other items. Solntsev created at this time more than 3000 drawings sketches, which were distinguished by a high level of detail. These were the images of historical household items, icons, buildings, clothing, weapons, armor, etc. About 700 sketches formed the basis of the publication of the "Antiquities of the Russian state", which was conceived Olenin and sold after his death, Nicholas I (edition limited to 600 copies).

In 1836, Theodore G. Solntsev received the title of academician. Solntsev also participated in the restoration and painting of many Russian churches.

In the collection of the Museum of F. G. Solntsev entered 498 items. This Museum in the sample was established by results of work of scientific conference devoted to the life and work of academician of painting Solntseva common solution participating in the conference and the Administration of the biology of inland waters Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Museum is housed in the spacious halls of the building in the center of Borca. The Museum has an exhibition of rare objects of peasant life. It is among such things and for the childhood of a famous artist. Exhibition of noble living room is the backdrop for the next phase of life of the artist – his life in St. Petersburg. The largest room is devoted directly to the artist. Here are the different areas of his creative activity. In this exposition, Museum visitors can see the artist's work, photographs, archival documents and portraits of his loved ones. The top tier is occupied by images of the Grand Kremlin Palace and Terem Palace, which for over ten years worked Fyodor Grigorievich as interior decorator and restorer. In the exhibition hall of the Museum hosts exhibitions of artists of different artistic disciplines.

The guided tour is dedicated to the life and work of the artist-archaeologist, as well as the history of peasant life and the tour titled "Through the pages of old books". Every year the Museum holds a small Morozov reading, organizes lecture courses on the history of Borca and the art of conducting tours. Every year from 25 to 27 April, here is a scientific conference titled "Solntsevskaya reading".
