Memorial-tourist complex "Scythian camp" today is one of the most interesting historical places in Zaporizhia, located on the island of Khortytsya.

Many years ago on the island of Khortytsia was a large number of mounds, about 30. The oldest of these tombs were created in the 2nd-3rd Millennium BC. Many of these mounds were divided into 6 major groups, and these groups were located in the Scythian way. Scythian path crosses the island of Khortytsya in the middle: starts from Naumova beams, and ends Firth part of this island.

Scythian camp” called the fifth group of mounds, they were at the highest point of the island Khortytsya, about 59 meters above the river Dnieper. The fifth group of barrows is the only group that has restored and it is assumed that in this place our ancestors were buried in rich families and prayed for the repose of the gods.

From the beginning there was located only three burial mounds, which have survived to the present day. But archaeologists working in this memorial is a tourist complex, resulted in the order of five mounds. One of them was built on the spot where formerly was research, two mounds appeared instead of two before destroyed, and two were taken as models. On the idea of the following two historians of the mound is in the form of a stylized ancient sanctuary of the God of war Areia and in the form of the Cossack tower.

“Scythian camp” is very famous not only due to its historical heritage, but also the beautiful views from this famous place. Locals believe that this place is kind of energy source. Many people who visited the site, later claimed that they began to feel much better, and some of them have recovered from the disease.
