Aarhus is one of the oldest cities, located on the Bay in East Jutland. Today Aarhus is the cultural center of the country, in the city center are many of its attractions include old churches, museums, ancient houses. Of particular interest to tourists is the Museum of fine arts is one of the largest art museums in Northern Europe.

The Museum building is a modern ten-storey building in the form of a cube with glass rainbow gallery on the roof, the total area of the building is 17000 sq. m. the Official opening of the Museum took place on April 8, 2004.

The visitors gallery is an excellent way to see the magnificent collection of paintings, sculptures, graphic works. The Museum dedicated to the works of sculptors and painters of the Danish Golden age (1800 – 1850), modernism (1900 – 1960). The Museum also presents works by contemporary artists, including those who work in the genre of creative experiment. Symbol and pride of the Museum was one such work - a five-foot sculpture of a seated boy on his haunches, author - Ron Mueck, established in 1999.

It is particularly interesting to visit the exhibition "Your rainbow panorama on the roof of the building and consists of glass in all colors of the rainbow. The author of a wonderful panoramic of the project was modern Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson.
