Fort San Diego was built in the early seventeenth century and served as protection from the Spanish merchant ships. The construction lasted for two years in 1615 1617 years. In the role unshakable strongholds Fort lasted until the XIX century. Nowadays its detailed restoration has engaged the national Institute of anthropology and history.

The largest exhibit, of course, is a Spanish Galleon of the eighteenth century. This giant displacement of more than two thousand tons, was equipped with all sorts of defensive devices.
Today, Fort San Diego is one of the main attractions of Acapulco, which attracts tourists from all over the world.
