"Desert Park" is an environmental education centre, spread over an area of 1300 hectares in Alice springs. He is a member of the world Association of Zoos and Aquariums and a member of the International Society for the Preservation of Botanical Gardens.

On-site "Desert Park" you can see the typical inhabitants of the Central Australian desert, representatives of both the fauna and flora. Here is a number of research programmes that help to conserve the population of wild animals and plants, as well as educational programs that introduce visitors to the unique nature of the "heart" of Australia. Most of the work of the Park takes place with the direct participation of the indigenous inhabitants of these places – the aboriginal people of the tribe arrernte, the real masters of this land.

On the territory of the Park there are 1, 6-kilometer trail that connects three main sections, reproducing the natural environment, Desert Rivers, Sand Country and woodland. Passing through the Deserted Rivers, visitors consistently find themselves in the dried-up riverbed, the once flooded area and the marshes. Here you can see the river eucalyptus, thickets of reeds and aquatic plants. Among the inhabitants of this section – finches, cockatoos, frogs and a variety of fish. The aborigines tell about how for thousands of years they used such places to harvest and manufacture of medicines. Sandy Country reproduces the desert with her salt and gypsum crafts. In the area of Forests inhabited by kangaroo and EMU. In addition, the Park is the House of Nocturnal Animals, which you can see a variety of reptiles, invertebrates, birds and mammals, leading night life and Theatre of Nature with birds of prey. A mandatory part of the excursion program is a story about how in these harsh conditions was inhabited by aborigines of arrernte.
