The van Gogh Museum is the most visited Museum in the Netherlands. To look at the paintings of the famous painter and his contemporaries comes more than half a million people a year.

The Museum is located on Museum square, close to State and Municipal museums. The building was built in 1973 specifically to host the works of van Gogh. On the ground floor is the entrance exhibition, cafe and shop. On the second placed van Gogh in chronological order. The exposition on the third floor talks about the process of restoration of paintings, here are small temporary exhibitions. The fourth floor is devoted to the work of contemporaries of van Gogh, one way or another connected with him and his work. In 1999 opened an additional wing of the Museum, designed by Kisho Kurokawa, it hosts large exhibitions. Only the Museum's collection of 200 paintings by van Gogh, 400 drawings and 700 of his letters is the most complete collection in the world. Here are the most famous works of the artist: "Sunflowers", "the potato Eaters", "Bedroom in Arles", "Irises", self-portraits.

Vincent van Gogh is one of the most famous Dutch painters. His style is defined as post-impressionism. His work was not appreciated by the public during his lifetime, but after his tragic death, the paintings became popular. Now picture Vah Gogh – one of the most expensive in the world.

The Museum has special programs for children in a playful way to introduce younger visitors with the artist's work.
