Argos is considered the oldest continuously populated city of Europe. Argos fortress situated on a high hill. The fortress has many times changed its owners – the ancient Greeks, Byzantines, crusaders, Venetians, Turks in turn ruled here. It offers a magnificent view of the city and the Bay.
From ancient Argos there are very few: the Foundation of the Agora classical period, Roman baths and a huge theatre IV century BC, rebuilt by the Romans under the gladiatorial games.
In the Archaeological Museum presents the exhibition of pottery, ancient seals, objects from Mycenaean tombs and Roman mosaics.
