The city of Sondaicus with XIX century. is the center for the study of unusual and mysterious natural phenomena – the Northern lights.

Modern geophysical Observatory, located near the city, as well as “Home of the Northern lights” are a sumptuous photos and videos, as well as ancient myths and science about this unique phenomenon of nature.

These surroundings were nicknamed the “place of stars”, where you can admire the incredible shimmering Northern lights. The its very beginning there were many legends about its nature. It was thought that the flickering of the Northern lights is the anger of invisible gods and sparks from fairy tail foxes. Hence, there is the Finnish name for this phenomenon – “Fox fire”.
