Original architectural landmark "Golden age" of the city of Arzamas is the Church of the Nativity, built on the site of the temple of the 17th century. In 1845 there was a new tab Nativity Church funds Arzamas merchant and farmer, A. M. Salnikova. Author cosmetolog Church in the Russian-Byzantine style was the architect K. A. Ton. In 1852 on the street opened its doors to a new stone in the Nativity Church with five tented domes. Finish building the temple structure at the expense of the heirs Salnikova.
Four years later the same architect, was built a Church in Krasnoyarsk, in the details of repeating Arzamas. The only difference was the presence of the bell tower that already existed near Christmas in more old Smolensk Church (1797 buildings). In 1940, as all Orthodox buildings, the Church was nationalized and the building became a bakery. During the Soviet times the Church has lost the dome and murals. Much worse had blastoise Smolensk Church, it has remained only half-demolished wall.
