Moldavski the monastery of St. Paraskevi is situated in the Western Rhodopes, about 2, 5 km South-West of the village of Moldava and 4 km on Southeast from the town of Asenovgrad. The monastery was founded in the XIV century, but was soon devastated by the advancing Ottoman troops. Like most monasteries in this area, it was built in the vicinity of the ancient healing source.

During the Ottoman rule the monastery was repeatedly destroyed. For example, it has been the victim of Turkish religious fanaticism in 1666. The last time the monastery was restored in 1836 under the leadership of Abbot of Antim. Then built the present Cathedral Church and residential buildings.

In the Renaissance Moldavskaia the monastery became an important publishing center. It housed a large library, in the funds which they stored a lot of rare ancient manuscripts. It was subsequently looted and destroyed. Until 1888 in the monastery operated school.

The monastic complex consists of two-storey buildings with an upper floor semi-open. Buildings and spacious yard on all sides it is surrounded by a high wall. In the center of the courtyard stands the collegiate Church with a high bell tower. Orthodox Church built in 1836, is a large three-nave dome-less pseudometric with one apse and a narthex, with the South-West side adjoining the bell tower. Of particular interest is the open gallery is an arcade of five arches supported by seven square columns. In 1840 the Church was painted travinski artists – To. Zaharieva and his sons Peter and George. Walls, arches and archways of the gallery since then decorate painted with images of saints Cyril and Methodius; inside the temple painters captured Clement Oreskog, Naum of Preslav, Euphemia and Theodosius of Turnovo and others, on the East wall is an imposing composition "the last judgment", and on the North and South walls – painting "the Creation of the world", Apocalypse, "the acts of the apostles".

In 1888, 20 metres from the monastery complex of the healing source was built a small structure. In 1946 the Church collapsed, survived only the Western wall with eve and arcade. In 1951, she was fully restored.
