Tirtagangga is a former Royal Palace in Eastern Bali. The Palace is 5 kilometres from Karangasem, County in the province of Bali, and close to Abang.
The Palace is known what is in the water, and was owned by the king of Karangasem. The date of construction of the Palace – the years 1946-1948, and the king himself was directly involved in the construction of his residence. But Tirtagangga that occupied the territory of 1 hectare, unfortunately, in 1963, was completely destroyed due to the eruption of the volcano Agung. After a time, the Palace was completely restored.
It is worth noting that the name of the Palace Tirtagangga translates as "water of the Ganges". This residence is surrounded by lush gardens. The pride of the Palace are considered 11 fountains, which are arranged in tiers. The Palace complex reflects the meaning of Hindu Bali: the complex is divided into three levels, which are at different heights and symbolize that there is a higher world of gods, the world of men, and the lower level, where demons live. At each level, and are relevant statues.
On site there is a bath and ponds with fish (Golden carp), in the pool you can even swim for a fee. The fish can feed bought at the entrance of the bread or food. It is believed that the water which flows on the Palace grounds, sacred, because it flows from a sacred river. In the pool even has a lot of Balinese ritual ceremonies.
