One of the greenest area of Bangkok Lumpini Park was created in 1920-ies by decree of king Rama VI and is the property of the Royal family. At that point in time he was on the outskirts of the city, while today Lumpini is located in the heart of the business district of Bangkok. The Park's name comes from the birthplace of Buddha in Nepal, Lumpini town.

The Park covers an area of 360 Raev land and offers a rare for Bangkok the opportunity to relax in the lap of nature. Here you can find groves of trees and shrubs, flower beds and even an artificial lake on which people can ride on a rented boat anyone.

Special attention of visitors to the Park cause water monitor lizards, which for several years now believe Lumpini own house. They are considered close relatives of the Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on the planet. Despite its impressive size, reptiles are not dangerous to humans, happy to take treats and photographed.

On-site Lumpini Park is the first public library of Bangkok and dance hall. In the winter months, the palm garden in the Park turns into a concert venue. In particular, it is an annual classical music festival.

In the southwest corner of the Park is the statue of its founder, king Rama VI as a sign of special appreciation from the residents of Bangkok.

Lumpini Park is popular among professionals and Amateurs of different sports. The perimeter of the Park, of about 2, 5 km, is a favourite place runners. Cyclists also took a fancy Park, but they are allowed to stay only from 10:00 to 15:00. In the morning in Lumpini is possible to observe groups of people doing tai Chi. Also here is an outdoor gym for fans of strength exercise in the fresh air.

Smoking and dog walking in the Park Lumpini is strictly prohibited.
