Vimanmek Palace Photo: Vimanmek Palace

Vimanmek Palace is the world's largest building, built of pink Tisa without a single nail. All designs were fastened with wooden dowels. The building was formerly located on the island of si Chang, but in 1901 by order of the king was transported to its present location in Bangkok to Dusit Park.

In the Palace lived a king Rama V with its numerous family. Later he moved to the Royal Palace, and stayed here to live his wife. In 1935, the Palace was abandoned and gradually fell into decay, until in 1982 has not started restoration. Now it houses the Museum's unique exhibits that belonged to the Royal family.

The Palace boasts over 80 rooms – rooms for the audience, the concert hall, the dwelling. Here is Thailand's first light bulb, a huge cast iron tub with warm water boiler, porcelain, furniture, hunting trophies.

Next to Palace Winmenc is the Throne room Apisecret, where is the Museum of traditional crafts, the Royal coach Museum, the Museum of portraits of members of the Royal Chakri dynasty, Museum of vintage garments and fabrics and Museum of photography.
