The Church of the heart of Jesus, or the Church of the sacred Heart is the largest neo-Gothic Church in the Austrian town of Bregenz. The Church is located on the Eastern shore of lake Constance, rises majestically above the Lower city. Belongs to the diocese of Feldkirch.
The Church was built largely with donations from ordinary citizens of the city of Bregenz in 1905. The design of the building was prepared by a famous architect from Stuttgart Joseph, you'll be. At the beginning of the Second world war altars were built in the Gothic Renaissance style. On the altar are statues and reliefs, including those dedicated to the birth of Christ, and also: the sacrificial lamb, Christ on the mount of olives. Above the main altar is a beautiful window of stained glass. Another pride of the Church - the body established by Joseph Behmaram, appeared in 1931. The instrument has an amazing sound that can be heard today. Twice, the organ was repaired in 1953, and in 1992. In 1963 there were cracks on two bells, which had to be replaced with new ones.
In 1969 he carried out the reconstruction of the temple. In the early 90-ies in the Church were made heated floors for the best heating such a large space. The anniversary service was held on November 23, 2008 in honor of the centennial of the Church. Today, the Church is now a tourist attraction, being one of the symbols of Bregenz.
