Cathedral of St. Peter Photo: Cathedral of St. Peter

Cathedral of St. Peter was erected in the XI century Later it was rebuilt several times. Two symmetrical 98-foot towers were restored in the late nineteenth century. With their heights offers magnificent views of the entire city. The building was badly damaged during the Second world war, but to date it has been fully restored.

Initially the Cathedral was Catholic, then Lutheran, which led to the mixture of styles in its interior decoration. The interior is decorated with Sandstone bas-reliefs. On the seats of chairs in the choir loft, you can see scenes of the passion of Christ and the battle of Judah Maccabee. Of special interest is the Baroque pulpit carved 1638, made donations of Queen Christina of Sweden.

Western and Eastern crypt is the oldest part of the Church. Here you can see ancient sculpture of Christ 1050 and the Romanesque baptistery of the XII century with 38 bas-reliefs.
