Khmelevsky Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery, or monastery of the Transfiguration, was founded in 1725.

According to the legend, a local landowner for a lot of money was acquired list of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of częstochowa, written by the Apostle Luke. For a list of icons was specially built chapel in which was the sanctuary. Once in the estate of the landowner caught fire. Burned all the buildings, including the chapel. But when they began to disassemble the conflagration, the icon showed up unharmed. Then the landlord decided especially for icons to build a Church. This Church has grown over the years the monastery.

Once in our time, the icon was twice kidnapped, and she miraculously found the icon in 1995 began to stream myrrh. This miracle has caused an unprecedented flow of pilgrims, who day and night prayed before the miraculous image.

Monastery for Orthodox Christians was founded on 30 December 1999. Now the monastery is one of the most beautiful and peaceful sights which can imagine people, tired of the bustle of the city. It is located away from the settlements (the nearest village Khmeleva – half kilometers). However, the monks not only pray, but also to help the many pilgrims, many of whom come for healing and in need of care and assistance.
