The Cebu Capitol – the seat of government of the Philippine province of Cebu, located in the same city. The Capitol, built by the famous architect Juan Arellano, located on the Northern end of the Boulevard, osmena circle. The inscription on the facade reads: "the authority of the government emanates from the people".

The design of the Capitol, designed to replace the old government buildings Casa Provincial Spanish quarter, began in 1910, but by the very construction began in 1937. Over the course of work personally supervised by the Governor of Sotero Cabahug. A year later, in June 1938, was held the Grand opening of the new Capitol, which was attended by the President of the Philippines Manuel Quezon. At the ceremony Cebu Archbishop Gabriel Reyes blessed the new building, and the wife of the Governor Rodriguez uncorked a bottle of champagne. During the Second World war, the Capitol was seriously damaged, however, only a year after the war was fully restored.

Today, the Capitol building of Cebu is one of the main attractions of the city. Its U-shape as if embracing the wide end of the Boulevard, osmena circle. The main three-story building is framed on the sides by two official buildings, and all together they create a wide court of honor – the front yard is bounded by a balustrade. The main building is built in typical neoclassical style: first floor with rough-hewn stone blocks occupied small rooms and offices on the second floor is located the main office space, and completes the structure of the attic floor. The facade is surmounted by a cornice and parapet with allegorical sculptures at the corners. The most memorable feature of the facade is the Central semi-circular balcony with simple octagonal dome.

On the second floor of the Capitol are accessible via the main staircase from the foyer. If the lobby is designed in the art Deco style, go in the southern direction, it is possible to get on the balcony overlooking the Boulevard. And if you go North, the corridor will lead to the dance hall with huge Windows from ceiling to floor, also decorated in the art Deco and reminiscent of the fabulous balls.
